![]() I'm not confident that the SBCT BN commanders with their infantry-centric mindset know when to draw the line and instruct their S3s to focus on infantry support *only*. Is that fixed? I can't imagine the big 30mm turret is that much lighter than the MGS one.Not sure about the weight difference between an MGS and a Stryker with the 30mm turret, but the BN Mike Golf's and crews seem to want to make the focus of effort engaging tank and tank-like targets when afforded the opportunity to drift away from established tables. While it looks kinda sorta viable, it has no place in a fight with a near-peer enemy IMHO.I seem to remember that the MGS was breaking axles and suspension parts pretty regularly, due to being way over design specs for weight. The MGS with 105mm main gun has limitations I won't discuss here. Protector is stabilized, allowing Stryker Dragoon to fire accurately while on the move, and is equipped with a thermal camera, day camera, and laser rangefinder.Wheeled vehicles are limited in crew protection / armor compared to tracked AFVs. It is completely unmanned, operated by the Stryker crew inside the hull of the vehicle. The autocannon carries 150 rounds of MK 238 High Explosive IncendiaryTracer (HEI-T) for use against ground troops and unarmored targets and the and the MK 258 Armor Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot-Tracer (APFSDS-T) round for use against armored vehicles. The Protector turret, manufactured by Norwegian defense contractor Kongsberg, is armed with a XM313 30-millimeter autocannon and a M240 7.62-millimeter machine gun. The new Protector turret packs the firepower to take on enemy armored vehicles. In practice, there would be very little the West could do in response, despite the fact that such a move would be as unwelcome by the Belarusians as it was to Ukrainians.Ī very worrying period for the Belarusian population. The Army is Upgrading the Stryker Armored Vehicle With a Bigger Gun However, President Lukashenko would be very unlikely to ask for support in the event of a Russian coup. When Russia invaded Ukraine, President Zelenskyy asked for international support, which the West was very happy to provide. If Putin does seize Belarus, what would the West do in response? He invaded Ukraine to stop it joining NATO and despite the invasion faltering, Putin remains focused on securing a buffer - the Donbas - between the two countries.īy infiltrating Belarus with thousands of Russian military soldiers, Putin is invading Belarus by stealth. Putin has made no secret of his desire to create a buffer-zone between Russia and the West. Ove the past few days, Wagner military personnel have moved into "temporary" camps in Belarus and are apparently being used to train the Belarus military. It has launched air attacks from Belarusian airfields and Russia has recently forward-deployed tactical nuclear weapons on its neighbour's soil. Russia has mounted military operations against Ukraine from Belarusian soil. However, behind the rhetoric, Russia is steadily increasing the number of Russian military forces in Belarus. Any attack on Belarus will be considered an attack against Russia and will provoke an appropriate response. President Putin framed the discussions as Russia providing security guarantees to Belarus. Lukashenko is a "puppet" of the Putin regime and has been described as the "last European dictator". The alleged attack comes after Volodymyr Zelenskyy promised a "retaliation" against Russia in response to the strike on a cathedral in Odesa that killed one person and injured more than 20 others.īelarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko met Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier today, ostensibly to discuss developing a strategic partnership between the two countries. High-rise building with missing windows andĭamage to its structure was posted to state-owned TV network Zvezda's Telegram channel. On the Komsomolsky Avenue, which is not far from the defence Russia's state news agencies reported that emergency services said drone fragments were found near a building ![]() Whether they deliberately targeted the buildings. Whether the drones hit the buildings when they were intercepted, or ![]() Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on the Telegram messaging app that two non-residential buildings were struck during the alleged attack.
